April Fools’ Day best pranks of 2019 😂.

April Fools’ Day is an annual Western celebration commemorated on April 1 by playing practical jokes. Here’s our top 5 favourites for 2019 🤪

Google Maps snake game

Back in my school days I had the old Nokia 3210 (showing my age 😜) where I was introduced to the iconic game that was Snake. When I saw Google had transformed the old classic video game I couldn’t wait to have a go! You simply select from the list of pre-defined destinations which includes London, San Francisco and even as far as Tokyo. The icon that we know so well as ‘snake’ then transforms into an appropriate mode of transportation depending on the chosen location. For example, London is the big red double decker bus, you then have to snake around and pick up passengers. Brilliant!

Google says the interactive joke will stay live for about a week, though you can head over to a special Google Maps Snake website to play after the app prank is over.

I had a little play and didn’t score very highly 😂

McDonald’s

Being a pickle lover myself I totally fell for the McPickle burger which was posted on Instagram this morning (not realising it was part of the new Australia menu). This post had more than 16,000 views with fans raving about the new burger which was a two-layered burger filled with cheese, ketchup and of course pickles.

Fans were really excited about the new burger and couldn’t wait to try it.

“One wrote: “I’m going to order 1000.”

Another added: “I cannot wait to get one.”

Personally I think they should listen to their fans and make the McPickle burger worldwide. I’d definitely have one!  🍔

NHS

I had a nice and early phone call from my Dad who was over excited that The NHS are now prescribing Guinness as a pick me up for anyone that suffering from anaemia, insomnia, or tiredness. Which of course he isn’t.

Older generations will no doubt remember when a pint of Guinness was given to blood donors in order to help boost their iron levels and a study by the University of Wisconsin found that drinking Guinness can reduce blood clots and the risk of heart attack.

Hmmmm sorry Dad, I think you’ve been fooled!

Cats Protection

I’m a HUGE cat lover and follow Cat Protection on social and i’ll be honest I wasn’t sure if what I was seeing was real.

The post read:

❗️BREAKING MEWS❗️: Next year we’ll be opening our BRAND NEW Cats Protection A-mews-ment park to give all our supporters a hair-raising time! 🎢 Pawsome Park will be the the purrfect day out for any cat-lover! 😸 Find out more about all the attractions we have planned: https://bit.ly/2FNaUVQ

To my sadness it was in-fact an April Fools! 😿

Royal Mint

Royal Mint coins are well known for their themed Royal Mint have revealed their latest coin collection based on emojis.

The poo emoji coin is one of six themed 50p pieces with the others feature a peach, a heart, a flame, an aubergine and a crying with laughter smiley.

Coin expert Penny Silver said: “What with Brexit, Royal Mint must have decided everyone could use some light relief. Emojis are a great way to communicate and express ourselves, so it makes sense to mark this with a coin collection.”

Now, I don’t know about you but what a genius idea. 💩
