The Challenge
QJunkie came to us with the really simple concept of wanting to create an app for customers to virtually queue for a haircut at a barbershop. With a focused idea and niche audience, we’ve been able to create a cross-platform app that’s also accessible on web browsers.
By introducing a virtual queuing system into a barbershop environment the goal is to reduce the number of walkouts for barbershops due to long queues and people just not having enough time to wait. There’s also the potential to reduce the waiting area space as there won’t be much of a physical queue anymore. The app should save time for barbers, meaning that the number of customers barbers can see should increase.
The Solution
The solution for creating this virtual queuing app requires three main user types:
- Barbershop Owners
- Barbershop Employees
- Customers
Without these user types, the system wouldn’t work coherently and wouldn’t be a suitable solution. We’re going to explore two user types even further to see how QJunkie solves their problems.
Barbershops
The results of QJunkie show that barbershops can increase their profits by up to 30%, which only proves that the simple concept works well for both barbershops, employees and their customers. Business’ will grow and queues will shrink. To achieve this barbershop owners need to set up their shops on QJunkie.
Setting Up A Barbershop
Creating a shop on QJunkie is super simple and involves only a few steps. After shop owners have been through this process they’ll be able to gain insights on how shops and employees are performing. The steps involved in creating a shop are:
- Creating an account
- Adding company information (contact details, opening times etc.)
- Setting up employees
- Adding shop services and applying them to relevant employees
